Memorial Day weekend is coming up, and if you don’t have any set plans, there’s still time to put together a quick getaway idea. At our Philadelphia Airport parking facility, we’re always looking for a last-minute opportunity for fun and no matter where you live, there’s always a way to find it. Here are some of our favorite last-minute ideas:
A Weekend Outdoors
No matter where you live, you’re sure to find a great area to camp within driving distance. Take a trip to the nearest state or national park and spend your weekend outdoors - build a campfire, take a hike, do some swimming, and more. Memorial Day is a great time to go because the weather is still mild and the nights are perfect for camping.
Road Trip
Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned road trip? Gather up some friends or family members and hit the road for the weekend. Head to the nearest major city, a theme park, or even just a middle-of-nowhere destination. The end point shouldn’t really matter, since the road trip is the fun part! You can even rent a car to make things more exciting.
City Exploration
Chances are you live a drivable distance to a major city, so why not spend the weekend exploring? Check out the local shops, find a great bar or restaurant, see a show, or simply take a stroll and see the sights. And, since you’re not spending money on a flight, you can splurge a little and stay in a nice hotel.
Staycation
If you’d rather keep your plans simple, you can always take a nice “staycation.” Have a movie marathon, get dressed up and go to dinner, camp in the backyard, have a game night, make margaritas, or simply kick back and relax. It’s a staycation, which means you can do anything you want!
